The frame portion of the enclosure was salvaged from a late 19th century frame, that had been water damaged.

The base and drawer were made from pine, salvaged from a construction site.

The base was then veneered with mahogany burl, the drawer bottom and base covered with red felt, and all wood surfaces except the painting itself, finished with orange shellac, using the French Polishing method.
