Dovetail Stand

Oak, Rosewood, Burled Mahogany, Casein, Shellac

A light sculpture stand, made from vintage recycled pine substrate,
then veneered with rosewood and oak on the base and column, and burled
mahogany veneer on the top.

The 'Dovetail Patch' on the edge of the top is decorative, and only
as deep as the veneer. The painting on the front panel of the column is
done in casein paint, and is a rendition of the old wooden utility pole
that resides in the corner of my backyard.

The entire piece is then finished in eight coats orange shellac, and
French Polished to a high sheen.
