The Wittig Report - on the Interface Between Life and Art
-------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the Wittig Report...
On the one hand there is 'Art,' and on the other hand, there is 'Life,'
...and somewhere in the middle, they meet.
Due to a fairly severe bout of influenza, I didn't do any painting
during the month of February... paint fumes are not too good in an
enclosed winter environment to begin with, and I figured there was no
sense in pushing my luck, and risking further complications.
Instead of painting, I finished the first chapter of what will
eventually... one month at a time... become a full length novel, a
work of fiction titled 'Descent'.
I am back to work, so March will have my usual painting output.

'Descent' - A Work of Fiction, by Robert C Wittig
In Summer 2005, I published my first e-book, titled 'Eight Years'.
The first CD burning I did, just sold out (I have one left), so I have
to get busy, and burn another batch.
Then one of my pals, Donna Flood, just got a book she wrote published
in print: http://www.electricscotland.com/history/america/donna/
So I figured it must be time to start a second e-book, since the story
was already rattling around in my mostly-empty head:
"Life is a real slice.
I don't talk much. I got out of the habit a long time ago, and never
regretted it. Talking never really accomplished much, except getting
people pissed off at me for speaking honestly, or getting people
pissed off at me for lying. Either way, people were pissed off, and I
was jammed up, so one day I just started keeping things to myself, and
saying as little as possible, and as if by magic, my life became
immeasurably better...."
