The Wittig Report - on the Interface Between Life and Art
-------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the Wittig Report...
On the one hand there is 'Art,' and on the other hand, there
is 'Life,'
...and somewhere in the middle, they meet.
February was yet another busy month... twenty-four small
paintings,
watercolours and Chinese ink, and for the very first time,
since I
began the newsletter in September 2000... no essay. It is
not that I
had nothing to write...(heh)... just that I was busy
painting, and
never took the time to sit down at the computer, and
organise my
thoughts well enough for them to constitute an article.
On the computing front, I have posted three pieces of source
code,
fully commented, for anyone interested. Programmers...
remember... I
have been painting a lot longer than I have been coding. The
utilities
I wrote are functional. Anyone who has a use for them, feel
free to
use the code. The anti-spam module is especially useful, to
anyone who
wants to send a lot of complaint letters, and save a list of
IP
addresses that are used by spammers.

January 2003, 24 paintings:
For the sake of brevity, I point you to the thumbnail page.
Clicking
on any of them will open up the full image pages. The first
26
thumbnails are January's, and the last 24 are February's.

...and here, is a
digital piece I did, which was the inspiration for
the watercolour of
the same title... computer Assisted Suicide.

Articles: Because I did not write an article this month, I
am posting
the URL to the links page for all of the articles I have
posted in the
past three years... sort of like reruns.<g>

Featured Website - Scott Burdick and Susan Lyon
Two excellent realist painters sharing a single website...
well worth
a visit, in my opinion.
