The Wittig Report - on the Interface Between Life and Art

-------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to the Wittig Report...

On the one hand there is 'Art,' and on the other hand, there is 'Life,'

...and somewhere in the middle, they meet.

April produced 18 paintings, watercolour, gouache, and one oil

painting, and one short 'non-fine art' essay. (social criticism)

With warm weather looming on the horizon, I will be switching over to

doing some oil painting, now that I can work with the door open.

Article: 'Mood Altering Chemical Weapons of Mass Destruction'

"Like a broken clock, that is right twice a day, even the advertising

industry occasionally hits the nail on the head, as evidenced in their

most recent anti-drug/ anti-terrorism campaign. It seems that the War

on Terror has put the War on Drugs into a perspective that cannot be

ignored....

The fact that illegal drugs create gangsters and terrorists simply

because of their illegality is true, but culturally, is not central to

the issue of addiction. Opium was 'legal' when it was used as a tool

of cultural warfare against the Chinese. Gangsters and terrorists, it

has recently been demonstrated, can hold public office or be members

of a religious hierarchy, as easily as not.

Chemical warfare has been being waged against the United States, for

reasons both economic and ideological, for the past half century. Most

public efforts to address the problem, have been directed outward,

against the sources and distributors of these mood altering chemicals

of mass destruction. In my opinion, the only way this particular brand

of chemical warfare can ever be overcome, is by eliminating its

demand. No-one is prying people's mouths, noses, veins, and various

other orifices open, and pouring the shit in... mood altering

chemicals are a method of warfare that demands the willing

participation of its victim...."

Featured Website - Tristan Woodworks

This person sent me an email, claiming that someone had subscribed me

to his/her newsletter, perhaps as a prank, so he/she was confirming

the request, to separate wheat from chaff.

It occurred to me that this might be a clever ploy... a new twist on

spamming... but after visiting the website, I decided it didn't really

matter.<g>

Excellent wood carving. If you have a dial-up connection, it will take

a while for the page to load, but if you like relief carvings on

mahogany, it will have been worth the wait.
