This website, and all of the information contained in it, is my intellectual property. If I did not want to share it, I would not have published it on the World Wide Web. Therefore feel free to download a copy of any of the images of my paintings or my papers that are present on the site, for your personal use.
I have seen many website with rude and threatening copyright statements in them, and this does not appeal to me, and seems to fly in the face of the original reason for which the web was created; to expedite the sharing of information.
There are just a few things that I would ask of you...
1) Do not plagiarize. Give credit where credit is due.
2) Do not sell my work for profit.
3) Tell me thanks in my guest book, so I will know that you appreciated my work enough to take a copy. Comments can be positive or negative, I appreciate a thinking opponent to my views as much as a thinking ally.
4) If you are a painter, and want to use one of my on-line images as a basis for a painting of your own, feel free to do so. It would be nice if you gave me credit in the time-honoured fashion of stating the work is 'after' the painter in question, but if you fail to do so, I am not going to have a heart attack. In fact, it would give me pleasure to know that my efforts were re-used in such a way, because no-one ever copies a piece of work, if they think it is inferior.
5) Pretty much the same thing goes for my papers... the ideas contained therein are universal... I probably got them from other sources, and just cobbled them together in my own style, for presentation. Use the ideas freely, but put them in your own words, and style. If you don't, no-one is going to track you down and drag you into court. You are just liable to look pretty silly one of these days, when you are called upon to write another paper along the same lines, and it comes out sounding entirely different... because you had to write it yourself.
