20" high, 14" wide, 9.5" deep, made of some scraps of oak, saturated with linseed oil, and a hollow sphere of either brass or copper (I don't want to disturb the patina to find out which), dated, 1999
After I had made this, but before I had named it, I realized my debt to the sculptor/ physicist who had designed the sculpture 'Broken Symmetry' at Fermilab. That sculpture represents the symmetries that were broken as the new universe cooled, allowing one basic force to become the four that exist in the universe today
