Welcome to my portfolio and gallery. I have arranged my work in a way that should make things easy to find. If you have any difficulties during your visit, email me a description of the problem, and I will make improvements, so the site can be as user friendly as possible.
Featured and recent work (within the last year or so) is available through the links at the top of the MenuBar, on the left. (If you don't see the MenuBar, click here.)
Demonstrations and Groups has several demonstrations of the painting process, some in a 'start to finish' format, with photos of each painting session, and others that show a group of preliminary drawings, etc, along with the final painting or paintings. Image Archives opens up a menu to all earlier work. There are several hundred images in this section, arrayed on thumbnail pages, each small thumbnail image opening onto a full page image, if clicked. Information on How to Purchase is available through that link, and my complete Price List is available through the 'Price List' link in the MenuBar, or by clicking the 'Price Check' link located on any of the newer full sized image pages, below the image. Those sections that deal with portfolio issues are found in Curriculum Vitae on the MenuBar.
I do a lot of selling on eBay, the 'My eBay Sales'link on the MenuBar will open a new window in your browser, take you to eBay, and present you with a list of all my auctions, current, and that have closed within the past 30 days. I also do a fair amount of writing, articles and papers, most dealing with art theory and practice. These are available for perusal in the Papers section. The Digital Work link will take you to a thumbnail page of work that I have developed using the computer, and various graphics programs. Wittig's Computing Pages takes you to a completely different section of my website, where I post information on my computing-related pursuits.
The remaining links are either self-explanatory, or have appeared on the MenuBar since the last time I updated this page. The website represents my work, so it, like my body of work, is constantly growing.
This website and all of its contents are my intellectual property, and protected by copyright... How many times have you seen semi-threatening statements on people's websites, that started out just like that, which went on to warn you of dire consequences, if you saved even a single image or bit of content to your computer? Heh!
If you want to grab a bunch of my images, feel free to do so. If you would like a nice, free Windows screensaver/ slide show presentation program, designed and freely distributed by Henk Hagedoorn, of HJH Software and Design, feel free to download a copy.
If you want to use any of my artwork for the basis of some of your own artwork, or copy one of my paintings in your own hand, or use the contents of any of my papers as a jumping-off place for your own ideas or research, do it... no problem. One reason I publish on the Web, is to share my work with whoever can find a use for it. I appreciate receiving credit when my work is used or republished... a link to my website, and a brief email to let me know you are using it, is appropriate.
If you steal my work, by claiming it as your own, you are a lamer, and will eventually wind up looking like a fool, when you can't explain to people why it is, that you can't duplicate the work you have stolen, but I can, and do, on a daily basis. The best reason for not plagiarizing, is that it defeats the learning process. The second best reason for not plagiarizing, is that eventually, people will discover your deception, and think not-very-nice things about you. Be good to yourself.
